ROLLERCOASTER

Rollercoaster is the outcome of a collaborative process between Tripper and the Wild Things and visual artist Alison Postma. After deciding on a theme to work with (“Summer Bummer”), the pair got to work sending ideas back and forth. Collaborating remotely through a shared cloud folder, each party uploaded initial thoughts to inspire the others’ process. This back and forth of shared ideas and inspiration continued to evolve as the project went on, eventually resulting in the final video and song. The song and visuals reference the nostalgia for an idealized past summer: a summer of being a kid and living in the suburbs.

    TRIPPER AND THE WILD THINGS

Tripper and the Wild Things are an indie rock band from Hamilton, Ontario. The four-piece outfit consists of Josh Keillor on vocals and guitar, Eric Tarquinio on bass, James Puntillo on guitar, and Brian MacMahon on drums. Tripper’s brand of noisy, high energy rock is balanced by melodies that invoke their ‘90s surf rock and alternative roots, with themes of lo-fi ‘80s pop.
