EMELIE ROBERTSON is a Guelph-based artist who is captivated by the emotional tensions of being alone in nature. Drawing influence from childhood and adult memories in northwestern Ontario, she seeks to create paintings which both contextually and physically, straddle between precious and rugged. Her mindset deeply influences her process, of adding, manipulating the surface, reducing the material until its parts organically describe this energy of what is to her, the moment of feeling vulnerable and at peace simultaneously.
Upcoming things for Emelie:
March 12 at 7pm - Silence Gallery with Ahmri Vandeborne
