CARO BENITEZ is a Guelph-based artist working interdisciplinary in ceramics, video, sculpture, printmaking, and installation. As an Argentine-Canadian they pull influence from their environment and through the use of natural materials and slow making Benitez searches for what it means and looks like to occupy both cultural experiences simultaneously. When we see their work, we feel more connected to the earth and much more grounded.
Utilizing process based mediums, Caro creates works that are a physical representation of their lived experiences as a first generation Argentine-Canadian. Their materials are carefully selected based on origin, and are used to individually tell a story.
