Otherwise is turning FIVE and it’s time to celebrate with all the amazing humans who made the past five years possible!
Join Otherwise for an evening of fun, printing, music, snacks, and good vibes, featuring FIVE activities for FIVE years.
Screenprinting Demo – BYOMerch, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Bring your own Merch (think totebags, tshirts, sweaters) and get a demo in the NEW screenprinting setup at the Otherwise print shop while screenprinting your own item with a fun pre-made design. All materials will be provided except the merch – please bring whatever you want to print on – extra points if it’s reused, recycled, or thrifted!
Open Print – BYOScraps, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Lots of printers and artists have scrap bits and pieces of paper that they save from projects. Sound like you? Bring it with you and try using up your scraps in this open print – using only (or mostly) those bits and pieces. Don’t have bits and pieces? Don’t worry, Otherwise has tons that we just haven’t been able to get rid of. Come use them up!
Art material swap, all night
Have any materials sitting in a corner at home that you never use? Want to try experimenting with some new materials? Bring your unused or lightly-used materials, and check out the “Little Free Material Swap Library”.
Live music, 8 – 9 p.m.
Enjoy live music by a friend of Otherwise and talented musician, Silas Chinsen from 8 – 9 p.m. Silas will be joined for a few songs by another Otherwise friend, Mike Hager!
Silas is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, vocalist, and teacher based in Guelph, Ontario. He holds a M.Mus and B.Mus in classical guitar and voice performance, and has work released on Naxos Records. Silas creates music for choirs, solo guitar, singer/songwriter projects, and scores for audio-visual collaborations.
Community Canvas, all night
Add to the community canvas – bring your memories of Otherwise, your workshop ideas, your favourite class you’ve taken, your advice, etc. and add it to the community canvas.
Snacks
If none of the above grabs your attention, come for the free food! A true Otherwise snackies spread is guaranteed.
